Dr Jon Xue Zhang

Co-Instructor, Actor, Stunt Performer & Psychologist

Dr Jon Xue Zhang is a lifelong martial artist with over 30 years of experience and trained extensively under an SAS instructor. Jon has trained in a wide range of martial arts, such as KungFu, Karate, Jujitsu, Aikido, Hapkido, Arnis and Silat. Jon competed in multiple disciplines and holds gold medals in KungFu and Kickboxing. has also worked in the security sector for a number of years.

Jon is a guest instructor at numerous martial arts institutions, leading seminars and workshops on a variety of topics, such as practical self defence, weapons and conflict resolution. He has taught members of the public services (armed forces, law enforcement, fire service and security operatives). He was also formerly the performance psychologist to the Saudi Falcons, who were Saudi Arabian Tae Kwon Do team and continues to coach fighters and athletes for their upcoming competitions. He has also collaborated with well known names in the martial arts, such as Master Wong.

He is the author of 'The Martial Heart' (2020), which covers many subjects, such as awareness, composure under pressure as well as the physical aspects of training.

Jon is very excited to have teamed up with Sifu Della. He is exceptionally passionate about this cause; having previously taught self defence to women, he is proud to join Fight Like A Girl UK as a co-instructor

In addition to this, Jon has worked in the film industry for over a decade as an actor and stunt performer, with credits such as Hobbs and Shaw, The Gentlemen, Marvel Eternals as well As The Brothers Sun, starring Michelle Yeoh to be released in September 2023 on Netflix. Though when he is not filming, he spends much of his time teaching martial arts, counselling and playing the piano (check out his album, Aethereality).
